JioBook Full Specifications Review [Updated 2022]

Jio, the Indian telecom behemoth, unveiled its first laptop, the JioBook 4G. Previously, they entered the low-cost smartphone industry. Mukesh Ambani’s company will create a laptop, rumored to be called the JioBook, in collaboration with Microsoft and Qualcomm.

The Jiobook comes with the Android-based JIO-OS, which supports numerous local languages. Given that this is roughly the same price as a Chromebook, let’s see if this Jiobook is worth your money.

In terms of physical appearance, the Jiobook 4G will undoubtedly remind you of the old mini laptop that was popular 8-10 years ago. This budget laptop has an ABS plastic chassis body with metallic hinges and a matte finish to give it a premium appearance.

This laptop has a size of 18.86*1.72*27.7 cm and weighs around 1kg, making it easy to transport.

Performance –

This is powered by a Qualcomm 665 Octa-Core CPU, which is three years old. Furthermore, Jio only released one edition of this laptop. This laptop only has 2GB of RAM, which we believe is insufficient to handle Chrome. Most Chromebooks at this price offer 4GB of RAM.

Then there’s the 32GB eMMC storage. Fortunately, you can increase the storage capacity to 128GB, which is sufficient for normal surfing.

Display –

The screen on this laptop is an 11.6-inch HD TFT with an antiglare coating. Aside from a terrible viewing angle. So not for movie buffs, but watching YouTube videos is sufficient.

Operating System –

This laptop’s operating system is brand new. It is based on Android, but only on the Samsung One Ui or the One Plus Oxygen os. With some UI customization and its apps, the company intends to provide a distinct user experience when compared to other Android devices, which means that many Jio apps will come pre-installed with the operating system.

The company also intends to launch additional products based on this operating system to create an ecosystem similar to Apple’s. We’ll see in the future.

Ports & connectivity –

On the left edge of the Jiobook 4G, there is a USB-Type A port, an HDMI port, and a power port. On the right edge, there is another USB-Type A port, a headphone jack, and a MicroSD card slot.

This laptop includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.0. In addition, the JioBook will include an in-built SIM card for 4G connectivity. Users must visit their nearest Jio Store to complete KYC and select their preferred data plan before using the JioBook’s inbuilt SIM card. Yes, it only works with Jio sim cards.
